Company data from the Australia business register, through the Topograph API.

## Overview

Topograph reads Australian Companies Register (ASIC) and returns the company profile, legal representatives, other key persons and shareholders of Australia companies through one API.

Search by company name (current or former), ACN, ARBN or ABN, then request company information with the ACN or ARBN that search returns.

The company profile comes from the ASIC companies register, read at request time, with the ABN, its GST registration and the business names added from the Australian Business Register. Prefill and verification return the same record.

Directors, secretaries and the members of proprietary companies come from the ASIC current company extract, bought at request time in verification mode. One extract serves the officeholders, the members and the extract PDF of the same request.

- **[Australian Companies Register (ASIC)](https://service.asic.gov.au/companysearch/)**: The federal register of Australian companies, registered Australian bodies and registered foreign companies, kept by ASIC under the Corporations Act 2001. Each record holds the name, ACN or ARBN, ABN, company type and class, status, registration date, next annual review date, former names, the locality of the registered office and the documents lodged.
- **[Australian Business Register (ABR)](https://abr.business.gov.au/)** (secondary): The register of Australian Business Numbers kept by the Registrar of the Australian Business Register. Each record holds the ABN, its status, the entity type, GST registration, the main business location (state and postcode) and the business names registered to the ABN.

## Identifiers

Request a company by its Australian Company Number (ACN) as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `AU`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
