# Bolivia

Company data from the Bolivia business register, through the Topograph API.

## Overview

Topograph reads SEPREC Commercial Register Gazette and returns the company profile of Bolivia companies through one API.

> **Warning**
> **Bolivia is prefill-only.** Every company request must pass `"mode": "prefill"`. The company profile is read from the acts companies publish in the commercial register’s gazette, a non-authoritative source, so there is no lane for `verification` (which is what `/v2/company` uses when you omit `mode`). A request without it comes back with the datapoint failed and the error code `authoritative_source_unavailable`. See [Modes](https://docs.topograph.co/essentials/modes).

Search by name or matrícula. The matrícula is the identifier to use with company requests: 9 or 10 digits for a current number. The former 8-digit FUNDEMPRESA number is accepted too.

Coverage is the companies that have published at least one act in the Gaceta Electrónica de Comercio of SEPREC, the national commercial register: every company publishes its incorporation, and many publish capital changes, notices of meetings and annual reports. A company that has never published, as most sole traders, is not found.

The company profile gives the legal name, the matrícula, the former matrícula when there is one and the legal form read from the name. It never gives a status. The published acts themselves are available as documents.

- **[SEPREC Commercial Register Gazette](https://gacetadecomercio.gob.bo)**: The Servicio Plurinacional de Registro de Comercio keeps Bolivia’s national commercial register. Its Gaceta Electrónica de Comercio publishes the acts companies register: incorporations, capital changes, amendments to the articles, share transfers, mergers, dissolutions, notices of meetings, address changes and annual reports. Each publication carries the company’s name and matrícula and the published act itself.

## Identifiers

Request a company by its Matrícula de comercio as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `BO`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
