Company data from the Colombia business register, through the Topograph API.

## Overview

Topograph reads Colombian Business Register (RUES) and RUES open data and returns the company profile, legal representatives and establishments of Colombia companies through one API.

Search by company name or NIT, then request the company with the NIT returned by search. Send the NIT without its verification digit; the hyphenated form with the digit is accepted too.

Prefill answers from the national RUES extract. Verification reads the live registration with its legal representation section and registered establishments.

- **[Colombian Business Register (RUES)](https://www.rues.org.co/)**: The national register that consolidates the mercantile registrations kept by Colombia’s 57 chambers of commerce, operated by Confecámaras. Each registration records the legal name, NIT, legal organisation, status, registration and renewal dates, CIIU activities, the legal representation section and the registered establishments.
- **[RUES open data](https://www.datos.gov.co/Comercio-Industria-y-Turismo/Personas-Naturales-Personas-Jur-dicas-y-Entidades-/c82u-588k)**: The national extract of RUES registrations that Confecámaras publishes on the Colombian open-data portal. It covers natural persons, companies and non-profit entities, with their identification, legal organisation, status, dates, CIIU activities and one named legal representative. It is refreshed periodically.

## Identifiers

Request a company by its NIT (Número de Identificación Tributaria) as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `CO`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
