A company profile typically comes back from the register in 1 s in prefill mode and 40 s in verification mode. These are typical observations, not a service-level commitment: set your timeouts well above them.

- **[Publicações MJ (IRN Commercial Register Publications)](https://publicacoes.mj.pt)**: publicacoes.mj.pt: official IRN portal of commercial register publications (incorporations, capital changes, dissolutions). Used as the bulk-data source for the prefill profile.
- **[RCBE (Registo Central do Beneficiário Efetivo)](https://rcbe.justica.gov.pt)**: Portuguese Central Beneficial Ownership Register, accessed through a Portal das Finanças login restricted to authorized professionals. Topograph obtains the certificate through a partner.
- **[GLEIF (Legal Entity Identifiers)](https://www.gleif.org/en/lei-data/gleif-golden-copy/download-the-golden-copy)** (secondary): Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation – Legal Entity Identifier reference data
- **[VIES (EU VAT)](https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/)** (secondary): VAT Information Exchange System – EU VAT number validation service used for legal proof of VAT validity (PT VAT = NIF).

## Identifiers

Request a company by its NIF (Número de Identificação Fiscal) as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `PT`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
