# Taiwan

Company data from the Taiwan business register, through the Topograph API.

## Overview

Topograph reads Company register (Ministry of Economic Affairs) and Business register (city and county governments) and returns the company profile, legal representatives, other key persons and establishments of Taiwan companies through one API.

Search by Unified Business Number (統一編號), by name in Chinese, or by English name or Hanyu Pinyin, and request company data with the number search returns. The same number identifies a company, a foreign company registration, a sole proprietorship or a partnership.

Everything is read live from the register that holds the number, which publishes changes on the day they are approved: the company register for companies, the business register of the city or county government for sole proprietorships and partnerships. Prefill and verification return the same record; verification also infers ISIC and NACE from the registered business items.

Names, people and addresses are in Traditional Chinese, as the registers record them. The registers publish no shareholder list, no beneficial owners and no documents: the trade register extract is an informational copy of the published record, as a PDF.

## Identifiers

Request a company by its Unified Business Number (統一編號, UBN) as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `TW`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
