### Speed

A company profile typically comes back from the register in 1 s in prefill mode and 30 s in verification mode. These are typical observations, not a service-level commitment: set your timeouts well above them.

- **[California Secretary of State, bizfileOnline](https://bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov/)**: Official California business entity register maintained by the California Secretary of State and served through the bizfileOnline portal. Covers domestic and foreign corporations (stock, non-profit, professional, statutory close, cooperative), limited liability companies, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, and registered general partnerships. The portal's entity detail page shows the legal name, entity number, entity type, status, formation date, jurisdiction, registered agent (name, address and type), principal office address and mailing address, but no officer roster. The Secretary of State's bulk extract of the full register backs search and prefill mode, and carries the officer, director, manager and member roster filed on Statements of Information.

## Identifiers

Request a company by its California Entity Number as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `US-CA`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
