- **[Massachusetts Corporations Book (DOR/DLS)](https://dls-gw.dor.state.ma.us/gateway/dlspublic/corpbooksearch)**: The Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Division of Local Services, publishes an annual "Corporations Book" pursuant to G.L. c.58 §2: the list of legal entities taxed as corporations in Massachusetts as of January 1, compiled for local assessors. It has three sections: business corporations, financial institutions and insurance companies. Each entry carries a name, a location (the Massachusetts community, the state, or FC for a foreign country where the entity is headquartered) and an M/R/D flag that identifies manufacturing, revoked-manufacturing and research-and-development corporations for tax purposes. The book is published in full through the Corporation Book Online Search; it is the only bulk Massachusetts business-entity dataset available without contract.
- **[Massachusetts Corporations Division](https://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corpweb/CorpSearch/CorpSearch.aspx)**: The Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth operates the official online corporation search. It covers every registered corporation, LLC, LP, LLP, professional entity and nonprofit corporation on file with the Commonwealth and exposes the entity name, 9-digit internal ID, filing number, entity type, jurisdiction, filing date, status, fiscal year end, principal and mailing addresses, registered agent, officer/director/manager roster from annual reports, and the full filing history as PDF images. Certified copies and certificates of good standing are ordered separately from the Corporations Division.

## Identifiers

Request a company by its MA Secretary of the Commonwealth Entity ID as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `US-MA`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
