### Speed

A company profile typically comes back from the register in 4 s in prefill mode and 4 s in verification mode. These are typical observations, not a service-level commitment: set your timeouts well above them.

- **[Mississippi Secretary of State (live)](https://corp.sos.ms.gov/)**: Official Mississippi business entity register maintained by the Secretary of State. Covers all for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, non-profit corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, general partnerships, sole proprietorships, cooperatives, foreign business trusts, and the foreign variants of these structures registered to do business in Mississippi. Each entity carries a numeric Business ID (typically 6–7 digits) as the primary identifier. The public portal (corp.sos.ms.gov) provides searchable entity profiles with legal name, filing type, status, formation date, principal office address, registered agent, full officer/director roster (name + address + title), and name history. No bulk data export or API is available, so every request is answered live from the register.
