### Speed

A company profile typically comes back from the register in 1 s in prefill mode and 8 s in verification mode. These are typical observations, not a service-level commitment: set your timeouts well above them.

The registers this country’s data comes from. Secondary sources only enrich or check what the registers return.

- **[Oregon Secretary of State (live)](https://sos.oregon.gov/business/Pages/find.aspx)**: Official Oregon business entity register maintained by the Secretary of State Corporation Division. Covers domestic and foreign business corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, nonprofit corporations, cooperatives, and assumed business names registered to do business in Oregon. Each entity carries a Registry Number of 3 to 9 digits, most often shown with a hyphen before the last two digits (e.g. "1496294-95", "087399-14"). The public Oregon Business Registry portal (egov.sos.state.or.us) provides searchable entity profiles with legal name, entity type, status, jurisdiction, registry date, next renewal date, registered agent, principals, and name history. The same register also publishes a weekly snapshot of all ACTIVE entities as the "Active Businesses - ALL" open dataset on data.oregon.gov (about 520k entities, no authentication, refreshed every Monday).

## Identifiers

Request a company by its Registry Number as the `id`, with `countryCode` set to `US-OR`. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
