A company profile typically comes back from the register in 2 s in prefill mode and 2 s in verification mode. These are typical observations, not a service-level commitment: set your timeouts well above them.

- **[Tennessee Secretary of State (live)](https://tncab.tnsos.gov/business-entity-search)**: Official Tennessee business entity register maintained by the Secretary of State Business Services Division. Covers all for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, nonprofit corporations, limited partnerships, and their foreign equivalents registered to do business in Tennessee. Each entity carries a 9-digit Control Number as the primary identifier. The public portal (tncab.tnsos.gov) provides searchable entity profiles with legal name, entity type, status, formation date, registered agent, principal office address, standing information (annual report, registered agent, Department of Revenue), and filing/name history. Topograph reads these profiles in real time directly from the official portal; no bulk data export is published.
