About Forest
Forest is the operations infrastructure for regulated companies. It's the governance harness that sits above every workflow tool, enforcing who can access what and keeping a record of why every action happened, for humans and agents alike. Ops and product configure and decide directly, without engineering as the bottleneck, and every action holds up to the compliance standard a regulator will actually check.
Highlights
- Official company data and source documents from registers across 100+ countries
- KYB time down ~70% vs prior process
- <5s responses in 90% of cases
- Event-driven re-KYB
The challenge
Forest’s customers operate across many countries, and KYB hits the same bottleneck: getting fresh, official company data and documents from national registers.
The problem is that registration data is managed locally, and every register behaves differently. Access rules vary (local domicile requirements, AML-only access, extra credentials), formats are inconsistent across countries, and some key information can only be found inside PDFs. Data freshness is uneven, so teams often have to pull a new extract just to be sure. And retrieving documents manually is heavy operational work—portals, captchas, payments, access codes—followed by ongoing maintenance as systems change.
The result is slower onboarding, manual evidence collection that’s hard to audit, and re-KYB that stays calendar-driven.
Why Topograph
Topograph connects directly to public registers and pulls information in real time, with the original source document attached. That gives Forest’s customers evidence they can trust and keeps proof tied to the underlying filings (not merchant-uploaded PDFs). The data is also normalized into a consistent format across countries, so ops teams can work the same way whether the company is in France, Germany, or Portugal.
Topograph provides the authoritative data and documents that ground Forest’s compliance workflows in truth. The end-customer unlocks the capacity to scale confidently—still owning rules and decisions.
Results
Forest removed the slowest part of KYB: collecting fresh register evidence across countries. In onboarding, Topograph returns official data and the underlying documents in under five seconds in 90% of cases, and customers report about 70% less time spent on verification compared to their previous process.
The integration also changed how re-KYB is run. Instead of reopening files on a fixed schedule and re-checking unchanged companies, teams can trigger verification when something changes, such as beneficial ownership. And then validate it against the official register and close the case automatically when it matches. Only real discrepancies are routed to review, with the source document attached as evidence.
