Coverage gaps
Why some cells stay empty
An empty cell is almost always the register's decision, not a missing connector. We'd rather show you the gap now than have your customer find it in production.
Joint-stock companies keep their own share registers
Most registers list the partners of a limited liability company and stop there: an AG, an AE or an a.s. keeps its share register at the company. Where ownership can be rebuilt from filed accounts or returns, as in Belgium, Iceland and the UK, we rebuild it, flag it as reconstructed, and attach the documents it came from.
Beneficial ownership is where registers differ most
A handful publish it openly: Estonia, Poland, Iceland, Latvia, Ukraine, the UK. Most closed to the public after the 2022 court ruling and answer obliged entities only, with a credential, a fee and a queue behind each one. We deal with that, so UBOs come back in 21 of the countries here. In China, Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia we fetch them by hand, so those take longer.
US states don't collect ownership
State registers record who can act for a company, not who owns it, and federal beneficial-ownership filings aren't public. Directors depend on the state: Florida publishes full rosters, Delaware publishes none. Shareholders come back in only 4 of them: Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana and Vermont.
Missing a country, or a field?
Send us the markets on your roadmap. We'll run your own company list through them and show you what comes back, field by field.
