The final beneficiaries of Topograph's data are always regulated financial entities, who act as Data Controllers in the context of GDPR and are legally required to process the personal data of individuals related to the companies they have a business relationship with. Our hosting infrastructure is located in the EU.

Topograph connects directly to official government business registers across Europe, such as the French RNE, the German Handelsregister, Companies House in the UK, and equivalents in 35+ countries. This means you get primary-source company data, not aggregated information from third-party databases.

How often is company data updated?

Topograph provides real-time access to official business registers. When you query a company, we retrieve the latest available data directly from the source. This ensures you always work with the most current registration details, filing statuses, and corporate structures — not stale snapshots.

What is KYB and how is it different from KYC?

KYB (Know Your Business) is the process of verifying a company's identity, legal status, ownership structure, representation and registration details. KYC (Know Your Customer) focuses on verifying individuals. In practice, onboarding a business client requires verifying the company itself, and verifying its directors and beneficial owners. Topograph focuses on KYB: providing the official data you need to verify business entities. We do not handle ID documents or tax information about individuals.

What data does Topograph return for each company?

Depending on the country and register, Topograph can return: company name and legal form, registration number and status, registered address, incorporation date, share capital, director and officer names, beneficial ownership information, industry codes (NACE), extracts from the trade register and official filing documents.
