BetaCompany data from the Uruguay business register, through the Topograph API.
Topograph reads Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU) and returns the company profile of Uruguay companies through one API.
Search by name or RUT. The RUT is the identifier to use with company requests: 12 digits, leading zeros included.
Coverage is the about 98,700 entities that have filed a beneficial-owner declaration with the Central Bank: corporations (S.A.), simplified joint-stock companies (SAS), trusts, foundations and civil associations, cooperatives, foreign entities with a presence in Uruguay, and a minority of limited liability companies (S.R.L.). Sole traders and most S.R.L.s are not covered.
The company profile gives the legal name, RUT, legal form and, for an entity in liquidation, that status. It never confirms that a company is active.
What comes back for each datapoint and document, as on the coverage matrix.
Requests run in prefill mode (fast); there is no verification path here yet.
The registers this country’s data comes from. Secondary sources only enrich or check what the registers return.
The Banco Central del Uruguay keeps the register of equity holders and beneficial owners of Uruguayan entities. It publishes the list of entities that have filed their declaration to that register: legal name, RUT and entity type (legal form and kind of shares, or in liquidation). The holders and owners themselves are confidential. The list is republished about once a month.
Request a company by its RUT (Registro Único Tributario) as the id, with countryCode set to UY. Its format, validation rules and an example value are in the full reference.
The full reference covers how each datapoint is sourced and mapped, the vocabularies the API returns, the documents you can order and exact example responses. It is free with a Topograph account.
