Official Pennsylvania business entity register maintained by the Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations (BCCO) within the Department of State. Covers every domestic and foreign entity registered under Title 15 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes (business corporations, nonprofit corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, general partnerships/LLPs, business trusts, professional associations) plus four non-Title-15 forms maintained alongside them (credit unions under 17 Pa.C.S., financial institutions under 7 Pa.C.S., authorities under 53 Pa.C.S., and land banks under 68 Pa.C.S.). Topograph exposes two complementary integrations. First, the open-data dataset of registered businesses that the Department of State publishes on data.pa.gov (about 2.3M distinct entities, updated monthly; Topograph refreshes its copy weekly), used for sub-second prefill checks and company search. Second, the live Business Filing Services portal at file.dos.pa.gov, the Department's interactive register and the only source for current status (Active, Dissolved, Merged, Cancelled and others) and for the printable Trade Register Extract. Pennsylvania transitioned from a decennial-report to an annual-report regime on 2025-01-06 under Act 122 of 2022, so principal-officer freshness will improve year over year starting 2025.
